E-Instrumentation PROJECT

E-Instrumentation (also known as eINST) is a collaborative remote laboratory.

This is the result of the work produced during Christophe Gravier's PhD thesis. It aims at providing two fundamental functionalities for the leverage of remote labs:

Collaborativeness means Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) within the remote lab session. In other words, the collaboration is synchronous, during a hands-on approaches on a real distance appliance, where teachers, learners and devices are not in the same place, but at the same time.

Reusability is a lack of every single remote labs we have encounter. Indeed, conceptualizing, integrating and putting a remote lab online is time and money consuming. We need remote labs which could be reused, speaking of GUI, platform or middleware, in order to decrease both conception and implementation time. With eInst, we aim at providing a "device independant" solution, thus easily bringing new appliances online.
