Cette activité est clairement tournée vers le domaine des nouvelles technologies de communications et d'informations.

Historiquement, dans le cadre des activités des deux autres équipes du laboratoire, il est apparu assez rapidement qu’un certain nombre de matériels parfois onéreux avaient un potentiel d’utilisation inexploité simplement en raison de leurs utilisations ponctuelles au cours de travaux de recherche. Il nous est donc apparu intéressant de développer d’autres utilisations de ces appareils au travers d’Internet afin de multiplier à la fois le nombres d’utilisateurs potentiels ainsi que la formation de nouveaux utilisateurs (TP distants).

Ainsi, à partir d’un problème très concret, ceci nous a amené à développer une activité de recherche importante autour des architectures informatiques réparties afin de pouvoir prendre en compte toutes ces contraintes.
Cette réflexion a soulevé de nouvelles problématiques scientifiques. Actuellement, les thématiques développées au sein de cette équipe concernent:

• l'instrumentation à distance
• l'instrumentation collaborative
• la sécurité des systèmes d'information
• la fédération et confédération des systèmes d'identités des systèmes d'informations
• l'adaptation dynamique de contenus aux media
• le contrôle d'usage de l'information et la décentralisation de la sécurité

Les recherches de l'équipe s'appuient sur des compétences fortes dans le domaine des technologies Internet. Principalement, l'équipe possède des compétences en :

• Java, J2EE (EJB 2.x, 3.x, ...)
• Web Services (SOAP, WSDL, UDDI ...)
• Intergiciel (JORAM, CORBA, ...)
• Sérialisation descriptive et logique (XML, RDF, OWL, SWRL ...)
• Fédération d'identités (SAML, Liberty Alliance, CAS, shibboleth, XACML, OpenID, WS-* ...)
• Sécurité de l'information (PKI, Kerberos, Hardware...)
• Architecture des systèmes d'information (SOA, Proxies de médias)
• Instrumentation (VISA, LabView, ...)

Toutes ces études sont étroitement liées, et gravitent autour du problème de l'interopérabilité des systèmes d'informations. Aussi, sous un fonctionnement à base de projets, l'équipe contribue à l'étude et la mise en oeuvre de solutions à des problèmes complexes d'intégration dans le domaine des télécommunications de manière générale.
